The future of young peoples mental health

The Afiya Trust is currently supporting work of the BOND consortium (Better Outcomes, New Delivery) which has been funded by the DfE to increase the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to deliver mental health support services for children and young people.

The Afiya Trust, as advisors to the Bond consortium, invite you to attend a FREE Best Practice Exchange on the future of mental health services for children and young people. This event will:

  • Update you on what is happening to emotional and mental health support services for children and young people across the country, including early intervention, new ways of commissioning and providing services.
  • Share examples of best practice in relation to improving children and young people's mental health and wellbeing, including what was learnt from the Targeted Mental Health in Schools Programme (TAMHS) how it can be applied across different settings and contexts.
  • Identify practical, cost effective ways for developing and delivering future support.
  • Facilitate learning and partnership working. Elicit feedback that will build upon the emerging evidence and provide baseline themes.

The event will bring together people responsible for securing mental health and well being support for children and young people in schools, colleges and informal settings, as well as voluntary and community sector providers. This represents a tremendous opportunity for Youth Access members to engage in a dialogue about what would enable more of their work to be commissioned in the future.

This event will be delivered by BOND (Better Outcomes, New Delivery), a new mental health consortium, led by YoungMinds, which includes national experts and leading organisations in the field. BOND has been funded by the DfE to increase the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to deliver mental health support services over the next two years.
